Sonic Incursion is a fangame that will take you on a voyage of discovery. It will allow you to choose between two playable characters, one being the all too familiar blue blur and the other being the much more colorful Metal Sonic. The game will be comprised of three acts, each with their own distinct sets of challenges.

As is customary, each act features a level or two. These levels have been designed to be difficult enough to keep you interested, but not so tough that you find yourself wasting hours completing them. Each has its own gimmicks to savor.

Despite the fact that it's a fangame, it's still an impressive feat of software engineering. From the looks of it, it's using the unreal development kit and a proprietary extension to bring it to life. You can play it on a PC or a gamepad, but don't expect any special controls.

The most interesting aspect of the game is that it's been conceived by a group of fanboys and fangirls. It's all in the name of fun, but don't expect a free lunch. Although, you should be aware that you won't be playing for very long as this game has a fairly limited run. So if you want to get your fill, it might be best to buy a copy on eBay.
